Against all recommendations, 2020 is the year none of us should or could forget. We have learned more from failures than from glories, and yet, or exactly for it, 2020 clarified by omission how collective we are, how connected we are, and how art and aesthetic enjoyment are a nodal part of our identity.
One is only reminded of air when one cannot breathe, and the future is where one is or will never be. Over here, we remain willing to build a great and resounding future. The R2 proposition, Futuro, kicks off the program of the new era 2021 will bring.
Futuro is a typographical project started at the invitation of Typojanchy 2015 — 4.ª Bienal Internacional de Tipografia, later expanded and extended. The word Futuro (Future) is a direct reference to climate change issues and planet resources exhaustion, a result of human action. This typographic installation allows for readings ranging from total legibility to absolute illegibility of the solution, depending on the spatial positioning of the observer.
