Luiza Teixeira de Freitas is an independent art curator. Among the many projects she is involved in, her curatorial and advisory work with private collections stands out, as does her engagement with independent publishing and artist books. She is the founder of her own imprint, Taffimai. Based in Portugal, she regularly collaborates on projects in São Paulo, New York, London, Los Angeles, and the Middle East.
She serves on the Advisory Board of Delfina Foundation (London), Bidoun (New York), and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Instituto Moreira Salles in Brazil.
In the field of healthcare, Luiza completed a postgraduate degree in Paediatric Palliative Care in 2022, an area she continues to study and develop. She is part of the communications group of the Portuguese Association for Palliative Care and consults on a range of initiatives at the intersection of art and health. Since January 2020, she has served as Chair of the Board at Operação Nariz Vermelho, a Portuguese NGO whose mission is to bring joy to hospitalised children through the art of clowning.
