Inspired by the verse of the poet Wislawa Szymborska, nada acontece duas vezes [nothing happens twice] brings together the artists Pedro França and Raphaela Melsohn, in an exhibition curated by Luiza Teixeira de Freitas. At the Círculo Sereia, in Coimbra, over the three rooms, the exhibition constructs a sensitive and non-linear journey through creative processes, ruins and possible constructions.
Starting from the centrality of drawing — sometimes as a methodical projection (Melsohn), sometimes as an impulsive record (France) —, the exhibition proposes a coexistence between divergent practices, installed in the space between impossible repetition, the occupation of the present and reinvention based on error.
Behind the scenes of creation, physical occupations of space, and productive ruins, nada acontece duas vezes challenges the idea of a closed work and celebrates the artistic process as a field of permanent transformation. nada acontece duas vezes It doesn't tell a linear story: it suggests a spiral of attempts, failures, and reinventions — where even error is living matter.
